New Private Message has arrived - Notifcation

Hey guys,

I got an email today saying i have a private message waiting.

This message

Hello 3000GT_Mark,

You have received a new private message to your account on “GTOUK” and you have requested that you be notified on this event. You can view your new message by clicking on the following link:

http://www.gtouk.org.uk/phpBB2/privmsg.php?folder=inbox

but when i’ve gone to have a read, there isn’t any messages waiting?

im confussed, why tell me if theres nothing there?

can anyone shed some light?

When you send a PM, it sits in your outbox and the forum will send a notification email to the recipient if they’ve asked for them in their profile settings. If the sender then changes their mind and deletes the PM, you won’t see one in your inbox when you log into the forum, despite being sent the email.

So your saying they have sent me a message but then recalled the message.

So it confuses the system and me.

I don’t think so. When Mark reported the move to the ISPs new server the mails stopped and I haven’t received any since then. Mark said the server sendmail (or whatever) didn’t work. I still get committee and admin mails. Maybe Mark can clarify what the current status is?
