New to GTO and need insurance

Hi,

I’m in the process of buying my first GTO. I’ve been shopping around for the insurance. This is going to be a second car so my current NCB doesn’t appply so I have to start at 0 again.

Anyway I’ve been getting quotes of £2500 plus. I’m 28 with 6 points. Where is the best place to try?

I’ve read mixed reports about Sky Insurance, is it worth me trying them?

Thanks,

Geoff

Sky insurance tend to be the best!

have you looked at policies that allow you to use your NCB on both cars - i think the dual policies that directline/admiral do allow this.
may work out better to use the NCB on the GTO and leave the daily driver without? Join GTOUK and you should get club membership discount with SKY.

£2500 seems a hell of a lot for a 28y/o even with 6 points!

welcome to the club

What James said . On the way to pick up my GTO , I was on the phone with them and they came in £100 cheaper than Admiral .
And now I am off out for a blast

must be a high rate post code? i had 3 points and a ban on my licence and that was £730 FC and im 26, but now ive got another 3 points so im fearing the worst, but sky are very good

Another vote for Sky here, been with them for a couple of years now and they’ve insured a few cars for me.

Speak to Jae or Scott when you phone up.

elephant.co.uk were pretty good for me…

I thought other members said they were awful?

They are.

Im not going to write another essay on them.

If anyone wants to waste their money on the worst policy in the world (and not that cheap either) then thats their business.

However there’r a f’king disgrace, break promises to customers and wont honor their commitment if you have (in my case non-fault, even the other party said so!) accident.

They wont pay out - so I dont see why anyone should pay in.

Ar$eholes.

Do you work for Adrian Flux? You’ve made 4 posts on this forum, all of them suggesting people try Adrian Flux for insurance?

From my own personnal experience, and from what I’ve been told by other ex-Adrian Flux customers, they are a complete rip-off company who no-body should touch with a barge pole. They will squirm and wriggle out of any claims, dragging their heels with settlements, offering crap sums that are well below market prices, have a crap refund/cancellation policy, dawdle when you try to get proof of no-claims for your next insurer and offer really expensive renewals after your first year.

Feel free to continue coming on this forum and suggesting people try Adrian Flux, there will always be a disgruntled ex-customer ready and willing to post up the true colours regarding Adrian Flux on here.

Given how good Sky Insurance are for quotes, especially on modified and/or import cars, there’s really no reason to even phone Adrian Fux anymore.

PS, Welcome to the forum Ted, try Sky and ask them what they can do regarding your no-claims. Tell them you intend to join GTOUK, but make sure you do actually join the club before taking out any discounted insurance policy as they require proof of membership soon after the insurance starts .
