Hello everybody Frank from Denmark here:-)
We do not have a 3000gt club in Denmark so I hope I am welcome in the UK. I currently don’t own a 3000 but I am very close to buying one. I have made an offer on a seemingly nice 3000gt limited edition from 1994 this is a beckenbauer edition with some nice original extra specs. Do you have some advice to this purchase before I go on and set myself back some thousand euros🙂
Thanks in advance.
Hi welcome to gtouk of course there is an extensive gto buying guide check list you can read through.but mainly check for service history like cambelt, water pump and all the ancillaries have been maintained and then check for corrosion running boards behind sideskirts ,wheel wells, and the boot where the drainage pipe is there is a tendency the hose gets blocked with gunk and gets rusty.
Good luck with your purchase if you go ahead.
Jerry
Thanks everybody for the warm welcome🙂 it is nice to have dedicated people behind you in a costly matter like this. Already I have experienced from the Danish authorities that they are very reluctant to help in any way with a price setting for the VAT and taxes to the Danish state in their defence the GT I’m asking about is the beckenbauer model which they have no prior knowledge about. I will keep on pushing and hopefully we (girlfriend and I) will be able to attend a gathering in the UK next year in our very yellow 3000GT😁
Hello Steve, first of all a std. Boosted engine with electric valve control from HKS, a specially designet remus exhaust and 394bhp. It is in a special Ferrari yellow with 18" oz and all over the car there is a signature from Franz Beckenbauer. I will post more as soon as I have the car overhauled and shined up;-)
Welcome to Gtouk Frank, hope you get your 3000gt. Thats a very special model, only made 30 of them l believe so its one to get and keep. (Stock as possible)
Be great to see it in the Uk at a show sometime.
Good luck.
Yup and exactly that is what finally drove me to buy a GT even though I have been speaking about it for the past ten years:-) I will definitely keep it for the rest of my life and in my family and as you stated there is only made 30 and not all if them is still around. Today I will make the arrangement with the financial side between my bank and the transport company. It will be exciting to see if there is anything fishy in this I hope not, but again you never know. If/when i become the proud owner of this vehicle i promise you that we will the UK just need to save up the money for the taxes in DK it amounts to £ 15.000:-( I will get back to you guys in about 14 days if all goes well there will be a yellow car in my driveway🙂
