Uprated fuel pump, 550cc injectors, 13t turbos and something to control the fuelling.
Just upping the boost leads to breaking posts.

Itās one of those things that people will never agree on , thereās a few ways to achieve it .
It can be done cheap but it wonāt last ,
You want , turbos , injectors , fuel , pump , fuel control, boost control , coupled to this your stock clutch wonāt like it so you need to change that out .
Now you can play safe and achieve just over 400hp on stock internals or forge the motor , Andre did see 600+ on stock internals but it was never meant to last .
You need to see how good your standard intercoolers are as most are old and tired now so they would possibly need upgrading , so do you then go front mount ?
If you want the car to drive like stock then you may wish to consider a standalone as a piggy back is just a compromise .
Couple that to your mapping costs and itās not cheap .
All this of course depends on the car your buying , it will firstly need a good service if the history is unknown and even then wear inside the motor will dictate what you can get out of it
I may very well have missed some things off , thatās just an overview of my experience
One other thing I always say to people is go for a ride in a tuned one if you can , you may realise that 500hp is no longer your goal

Ah ok so could cost well into the thousandsā¦ 
It can do , if itās done properly , you could always keep your eyes open for second hand parts they donāt hang around for long though .
For now though I would concentrate on finding the best car you can then once thatās done you can use the technical side of the forum to tune it

Do you want a standard GTO or one that has been modified.?
The reason I am asking is because with regret, I have decided to put mine up for sale as it has been an expensive garden ornament for the past 5 or 6 years.
She has had countless things done to her and even won the best modified car at one of the Japfeasts or JAE and then went on to win ten of the bests but that was in the past.
If you search the site, you will see piccys of her.
The only things that have changed is the stepper motor aint working right (might be due to lack of use ) and the ariel got broke by the cover over it.
Yes she will need some tic but it depends on how far you want to take it but she is f$@&*ing fast.
