No claim bonus expired?

Hi Guys,

For 2-3 years now I’ve had classic car insurance which doesn’t use any NCB.

I’ve now tried to get a normal policy and have been told that my 9yrs NCB from before I started my classic car policy has expired and effectively I have 0 NCB - even though I’ve never made a claim.

Any ideas/thoughts

Cheers

Jim

My brother just returned from living abroad for 4 years & had the same problem…no continuity of policy therefore NCB had lapsed.

He contacted the insurance company that he had been with prior to this & they gave him a 40% NCB after verifying his claims history. This was Prudential, but assume other co’s may have a similar policy.

As long as you can demonstrate a claims free history you should get some credit for it!!

Just heard back from the company (Adrain Flux) who had to refer the claim to the supervisors. They’ll honour my NCB! Thank f**k.

What a crazy rule - how can a NCB elapse? Anyway - just something to make other people think.

Worked out alright in the end, thanks for the replies.
