To be honest Rossi the lack of enthusiasm is just what I expected :shock:
I personally think the venue that Tony provided is more suitable as its just a stones throw away from Snetterton. To be fair the best thing about Thetford is the A11 that bypasses it :mrgreen:
Also I really don’t think you will have much success securing reasonably cheap track time at Snetterton in the busier months (when warmer weather gets here) as summer prices tend to rise considerably. Maybe you could just arrange the meet to coincide with a track-day at Snetterton?? … If anyone is interested in taking their car on track, they could book themselves on in the usual way… for those that aren’t its free to spectate
Thanks for the feedback martyn, the reason for the attempt to get a booking in a little cheaper was theres a bmw club locally that have an “arrangement” with them and was hoping to go down the same route.
As far as location goes at the end of the day its wherever is best for everyone that just so happened to be the best one i stopped at. And Thetford is smack bang in the middle of the area i was looking at.
I belong to a club that has negotiated special deals on track days/evenings at Snetterton, it also holds its monthly meets there! …Unless you intend to join that BMW group on track, I don’t think there’s anyway you would be able to attract sufficient numbers to make it a viable proposition. just my thoughts
Its a shame as i think you have tried to make some thing that could be a nice little meet and have also gone that extra mile to give some thing more than a meet and grub meet
All i can say is that the Essex Meet original started off as 4 cars and grew steadily over the years…
However i went along as normal to the Essex meet at the end of December and i was th only one there !!! :tumble: :tumble: :tumble: :tumble: :tumble: :tumble:
So it’s even happened to the strongest meet that has been held in the history of the GTO/3000GT in the UK…

the track wont be an every month thing buddy, just an added extra once in a while to keep it interesting if theyd have come to a reasonable deal. be glad of the support though mate thanks

Hi Rossi, you will normally find you cannot please everyone whenever you are arranging these things, i find the best thing is to sort out a date for the first one & see how it goes from there
I’ll try and pop along to this one too Rossi. Was nice to meet you at the Kent meet on Sunday, it’s only fair I repair the favour I’ll have to see a bit closer to the time.
Ok confirmed the date and some details with the manager today. The first meet will be on Sunday the 6th of March. Depending on numbers we will either be in the normal eating area or he is willing to let us use the function room so we can all be sat together for food(which i think would be the better idea personally). I will be aiming to be there around 1530 with a view to start sitting for food anytime between 1600-1630. The postcode again for the venue is IP24 2JE. Can we put a list together of those attending so i can let them know on numbers. Hope to see as many faces as possible.
