Not enough stamps on membership letter?

Got the letter about the membership for next year today but it has a little weird sticker on it, saying something about postage unpaid deficient for 19p and with a handeling fee of £ 1, it says to pay £ 1.19

I googled the sticker and it is this one (but then without the PAID through it) :

But, they did post the letter, so there’s no card saying there’s a letter for me to collect or anything, so not sure how this works now ?

normally its a £1 handling fee and then the 19p is how short the postage was.A big con if you ask me as recently was caught out on this one and its due to the size of the envelope

i have just got one of those cards through the door for £1.19 exactly like yours
so is it from the club?

do i need this letter ?if i pay this “fine” then will the club reimburse me ?

errmmm yes these are the club renewal letters i will hold my hands up here and take the blame .

In the rush to get these out i put all the membership letters in associated envelopes and stamped them all within a couple of hours and posted them out following morning .

Then penny only dropped when Simon rang me lastnight to query what stamps had been used as he was ordering more envelopes :?

bear with us on this and we will get something sorted asap .

Sorry guys i ■■■■■■ this one up .

I will hopefully be able to post up a resolution tonight or tomorrow

Craig

same but it was posted so i take it we dont have to pay

i’m saying nothing lol

got same letter this am and i’m not going to pick this up

What does this envelope have enclosed, is it worth paying £1.19 or can I just print off a renewal form

I have to go to the main sorting office to collect mine.

Regards
Dave

Current plan is to reprint and resend the affected packs, so don’t worry.

Strange that some of us just had the letter delivered, and others got the above message and have to go and collect.

I’ve already filled in my form and send it off again with the cheque so i won’t need a new form

Did you put a stamp on that one Karim?

James

I had one of those turn up today too. Is it worth just going and paying the £1.19 or are they being re issued?

Cheers
Dave

Already paid My £1.19

Ditto

my post office marked it up saying not paid, but delivered it anyway

paid mine

It amazes me how much different post offices in different areas work… some still having the
letter put through the letterboxes regardless of the postage being incorrect when others have the
letter held back until the £1.19 is paid… Two or three days ago I received the slip saying I had to
pay the £1.19 to get my letter but if your re-sending them out then they can keep it… I’m just
surprised there doesn’t seem to be a normal code of practice throughout this Countries GPO service :?

It probably costs the post office more than £1.19 in time and administration…

Ditto! Just handed it in with the rest of the mail
