OMG i just got 3 points!

I’ve just pulled over by 2 nice c*ntstables for having my little lurcher sat between my wife and son in my works van (GTO is poorly so we all jumped in the van).

Result is £60 fine and 3 points for driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition. So will this affect my insurance alot or not much?

I know these things have different codes that affect things in different ways, so is this one going to be a bad one?

thanx

depends on your age and insurance company - my 3 speeding points adds £200 to my quotes, but thats because i am 21.

be sure to tell your current insurer that you have recieved points. it wont affect your premium now, but they wont pay out in the event that you have an accident and you havent told them.

My points made no difference at all. My insurance underwriter made the comment “we all have them - don’t worry about it!!”

for me it jacked it up by £200, but like james said it depends on age, we young ones are demed as speed freeks…when its not true obviously

3 points made bugger all difference to me, but remember, its not the points, its the code they look at. Mines SP50 which is speeding on a motorway, and my last insurance company said this was the least serious code as it means you were doing between 80-96mph on a motorway, something they dont consider that serious.

Not sure what your code will be (online insurers have a drop down box to tell you) but driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition would say to an insurance company that you are more likely to have an accident due to poor vehicle maintenance etc IMO. I know thats not the case with you, but think of the message the code gives out. Hope it works out ok though mate.

My insurrance told me different about my SP50, they had to put me through as aged 30 to get the quote and then change back my details which i thought was abit odd… :?
