Possible future gto owner after some advice on value

hi guys i have been recently considering a gto for my next car .I got offered one as a swap and was really after some advice on what it could be worth as the prices seem to vary massively anyway i went to view it yesterday after reading the buyers guide and doing lots of research. Anyway on with the details it was a 1993 5 speed tt japanese import gto in white mechanically it seemed to pull very well no knocks or bangs and went over it everything worked even the active suspension which suprised me. However it did blow a tiny amount of blue smoke on overun is this normal for an older turbo car or would it need stem seals? and the clutch seemed fairly high and more like a switch is this normal on a gto or will that need doing aswell paintwork wise it was pretty good but the wings had faded and were fairly scratched on top and the front bumper could do with a respray common from what ive read has a fair chunk of service history it had a full stainless exhaust and mushroom filters but other than it was completely standard any ideas what you guys would look to pay for this car i can stick some pictures up if needed thanks for any help ross

Stick some pictures up of the car then the peeps on here will undoubtedly pass a few comments.

Hi,

Welcome to gtouk, blue smoke could be caused by several reasons, that could well be the problem with the blue smoke but could be turbo seals etc. Some pictures would help to work out the value. There is some very good examples for not too much money, so I wouldn’t by a car with issues unless you are mechanical and happy to take on a project as this could end up costing more than just buying a well known running one.

Cheers,
Neil.

Cheers for the advice guys I am fairly mechanically minded having owned three corrados I carried out a full engine conversion on one and recently did a clutch change on my e46 but I decided against this particular gto the swap would have valued it at 2-2.5k and I just didn’t think it was worth it with the possibility of it needing a clutch change and it had no history of a cambelt change so would have to do that aswell it seemed to have fairly bad turbo lag is that usual for a gto? Also I have read the buyers guide along with as much info as I could find

Good luck in your search , the right car will be out there ,
