Potential sale of my GTO TT

Hi All, with a heavy heart I may have to put up my GTO TT for sale. I simply don’t get the time to enjoy driving it enough, work and my young kids take up all of my time. I am not advertising it elsewhere for now, as I would prefer to sell via this forum. See photos and summary below. Any questions or interest just let me know.

1994 Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo, 6 speed manual. Imported in 2002 from Japan and since then has had £28k spent on it, nearly all invoices present. Majority of that spend has been in the last 5 years, see photos for service history summary.

Engine and gearbox rebuilt only 2k miles ago, by Westfield Motors (Mitsubishi GTO Specialist). Runs like new.

  • Full engine oil and filter service
  • Full transfer box rebuild
  • New hard brake lines
  • All MOT advisories fixed
  • New MOT till Oct 2025

Hi

I think we have all been here somewhere on the trip with the cars. Having sorted the car and spent the cash, I would just keep it, pop out once a week to keep it running, for 10 mins, and hopefully in a years time, things change.

When I had two young kids, popping along to the Club even was an escape, and I know I not alone

Hi Simon, thank you, nice to hear that others have been in the same place. Also earlier today when I mentioned to my son (5 year old) that I may look to sell the GTO, he said “no daddy, I love the GTO”.

I think I am going to take your advice and keep it. I do love it, and am very proud to have one after all these years.

Hi @CapAP - I’m in a similar position- as Simon says I do the car club stuff as a bit of time for me etc… also my eldest daughter who is 10 also comes to some of the day car shows- although to be fair I think that is more for the pick n mix sweets :joy:

Hi im also in the same boat , my daughter and missus tske all my time (or most of) and work too only do about 500 miles a year if that and sometimes i do think i should move on but i cant bring my self to do so.so now i decided to keep it and keep her in tip top condition and then i can leave it my daughter to do what she wants with the car .when im too old or worse.
So keep her and enjoy it when you can.

You’ve already done the hard work, would be a shame to let it go! I’m like others have said as well, life, wife, kids all come first but mine is an escape from all that even if it’s just to do the weekly shop, and a bit of an excuse to get out of the house at weekends to tinker a bit when time permits.

Thank you for the support all! I can now tell my son the GTO is staying! :joy:

I must say, this forum is also a big part of why I love my GTO so much. Looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming meets.

Thanks Paul! I will keep onto it! I am going to use it more often as my daily car. Hope you see you at one of the meets soon! I am booked in to go to the one in Silverstone spring next year.
