Hi guys, i have a quick insurance question for you…
Basicaly im 21 and have tried to get a few quotes on the 3000 gt twin turbo, elephant/admiral are the only option really for me as they are the cheapest. On the above car they quoted me £1400 fc, i think that is a great price but however that is on a uk model. I have checked Autotrader and cannot find any uk versions from around 1992-1994!!
When i do the quote on the import they quote me £3500+!
They dont have a GTO option on the online quote form. Im puzzled? Are the 3000gt’s uk cars and the gto’s imports?? Sorry if this has been asked before but im very unsure on the different variations
What are the differences between uk/jap models?
Im really gutted now as i was hoping to go view one next week
If any one can shed me some light that would be much appreciated
The basic differences are explained in the buyers guide which is appropriately in the ‘buyers guide’ forum. There’s some other stuff in that forum which may interest you too.
Read the topic in this forum on sky insurance, they may be able to offer you a decent quote, you would need to join the club to get their discount though, and to join the club you actually need to own a GTO/3000GT but the insurance bit can be adjusted once you actually own/join etc.
The reason for loading imports is technicalities and ■■■■■■■■ really as all the parts come from Japan anyway and the slight differences between the two motors are pretty irrelevent regards price. It’s just a way for insurance companies to shaft people who own imports.
I am 21 with a UK Spec 3000GT Twin Turbo insured with Admiral - cost £1100 FC!
all the info you are after is already on the site.
It took 6 months to find the car i was after, a RED Mk1 3000GT and when i went to see it, i banged £1000 deposit on it straight away, as the bloke had 12 other people coming to see it that day! glad i was first!
If you need anymore help concerning this, give me a PM!
