Evening gents,
Rc built gto running 500/600 bhp, Was in jap performance may 07, fully rebuilt by rc developments in warrington,
Looking for a race spec alloy rad, cooling is my problem running a t88 turbo lump!! hence the rad, manifold will be coated to reduce some heat but will listen to advice from others, also a starter motor,
Thanks Heath.
Thanks for all your replies to my Add, great to see camaraderie amongst fellow gto owners,-)
Must post more adds for info as overflowing with advice!!!

hi there, what setup are you running at the moment, stock with stock fans etc? usually this is pretty good. Unless there is an underlying problem, i.e headgasket etc. As you say running aftermarket turbos generate even more heat so seems heat shielding, extra heat shielding and certainly ceramic coating will defo help with the extra heat produced. But seems to be more trial and error than a case of offering a solution. Ducting extra air round etc.
Evening Gavin,
Thanks for the reply, yes coating and the rad is the way ahead, sent pic of engine to zen racing, he sent pic back with arrow pointing from t88 turbo and radiator, basically boiling the water!!,
Did not think of head gasket though, good point, after spending three years and close to 50k you think this would have been done!! front bumper cut away for more free flow air to intercooler, and bonnet vents lifted along with bonnet for more air flow, running plug and play aem ecu, apexi avc-r boost controller for waste gate, think sourced rad on ebay of all places,-)
Much appreciated Gavin,
Pretty sure there is evidence that lifting the rear of the bonnet has a negative effect for cooling whilst driving due to negative pressure .
I have no doubt it will help with heat soak escaping from under the bonnet while stationary and parked though .
Would be interested in some pictures of your under bonnet installation though engine turbos etc .
Welcome to GTOUK by the way
Regards
Craig
Thanks Craig, had the same problem with my escort cossie, lifted bonnet!
If i could figure out how to put pics up i would, Thanks,
Pictures are really easy on here , in the box where you type to reply there is a list of icons above the text box , in the second box along there is an icon that looks like a dvd player with an arrow on it
Click that then you can upload pics straight from your pc , no need for a photo hosting site , or you can drag and drop them into the right hand text box
Craig
Single t88 turbo standard rad uprated fans, can i only put up two pics per post!!
For now the more you post you will be able to upload more pictures
Craig
I moved back to stock fans as the aftermarket ones didn’t extract as much air as the stock ones, this solved all my cooling problems straight away. Do you know the extraction rate of the ones you are using?
also can you stick a picture of the engine bay up as don’t often get to see single turbo upgrades, only 3 ish i’ve seen all suffered from the same overheating problem and melted gear cables.
Interesting custom plenum you have there , that will get some people looking an asking questions
Craig
Rc developments!!! it runs good sounds nasty screamer pipe is excruciating on your ears, beats down on fire blades from standing start to finish,-) only put 200 miles on her since it was built apart from the 1000 miles for every thing to bed in!!
Hi heath!
So just to make Craig correct in his statement that the plenum will induce some questions, here’s mine!
Are you running 90mm throttle body on that custom plenum?
Looks like a Nissan Infiniti q45 throttle body to me, I’ve got one. Perfect fit on a 90mm intake.
