In this image of a propshaft:
the leftmost item is what i’m referring to as the knuckle assembly (just so we’re on the same page) - a universal joint that allows power transmission through an angle.
On my shaft, the inner section of the knuckle, a + shaped device, has broken through its mount on one of the outer U sections. The resulting twist in the joint was what contributed to the smashed transfer case.
Now, i’m keen to know if I must scrap the whole shaft and obtain another, or whether I can buy and fit the necessary components to repair the knuckle. What do they cost and is it worth it?
Thanks for your advice, and sorry I have no picture of the broken knuckle (I can get one)
