Well another great day at Brize and the rain stayed away…unlike the last time.

Did improve on my personal best time a tad doing my best to fly the GTO flag as high as I could…was 4th till the highly modded Fiat Coupe put in a fantastic time (bastard)

Thanks for a great day Marty

What a brilliant event, location superb.

Got trounced a few times on the 1/4 but am still smiling. Beat my previous best 1/4 from elvington. I ran a 15.71 beating the last one which was 15.78   small steps first huh!

Anyways im waiting for a vid uploading and will post that as soon as it is ready.

Well done to Graham, he was chuffed to bits when his mapping finally came together. That bloomin fiat coupe was quick!!! Good to meet a couple of new members.
Can i say a big thank you to Marty(Roadkill) for bringing this event to GTOUK. I loved every minute of it. Being part of an operational airfiels etc added so much spice to it.

Anyways couple of pics

Julian and myself waiting for the runway to clear

Best time sheet

The local machines

Shockingly i agreed to let Anna take a spin, she did start screaming at 120mph that she was going too fast halfway down the runway

Thanks again Marty and to Julian for leading the way.

Mike

Myself & Mike on the start.

The jet powered invalid car.

After one of the runs & now waiting for the high speed run.

I had problems with my speed limiter & could not exceed 111mph whether it is intermittant or not I dont know, but on the way back up the M69 myself & Mike chased & overtook a new shape Celica & to say I was exceeding my speed limiter would be an understatement  , All in all I enjoyed myself ( as I do ) at these events, not a very good showing from me, but at least I didnt come last ( nearly ) but at least I had some fun, nice to meet some new faces yet again, thanks for the info on the event Marty

Julian

Had this to contend with!!!

shame i missed this :frowning:

Good to see so many turn out for this

First runs this season for mine. Started off on wastegate pressure and gradually increased during the day.

I didn’t seem to be able to launch it at all…all my 60ft times were terrible, and it really bogged off the line.

Best I managed was
13.51@106 with a 2.2 sec 60ft

Car played up in the end with a very strange speedo that jumps all over the place, clocking up miles when stationary…at a very rapid rate too

This was coupled with massive stumbling under load, although it runs fine at all other times.

Swapping the ECU made no difference, so that was me for the day.

Well done to all who came along.

Glad we got terminal speeds and 60ft’s this year, as Straightliners were doing the timing 8)

See you all at JAE

Marty
Ps. Anyone else manage to drive home with the sticker still on the rear numberplate?

I’ve updated the 1/4 mile tables with Julian’s, Miller’s, Gon4a’s and Marty’s times. Well done lads 8)

Can’t see Julian’s time? :frowning:

Can’t see Julian’s time? :(
Neither can I  Thats OK Im not important enough to be on the 1/4 mile board :D Im sure It`s just an oversight on Homers part.

Julian.

Julian,

Add it yourself in your garage/your car, i had did mine late last night. just click on the add quarter mile and fill in the info you have

Mike

Ahh, I think we’re at cross purposes here!

I’ve updated the 2 threads at the top of the datalogging and stats forum (quicklist and 2007/2008 1/4 mile times). If you want to add your time to the list in the garage part of the forum, then you need to add the time yourself to your car’s profile .

Sorry for the confusion.

Steve

Confusion over, now on the list & I might add, not at the bottom  sorry Hu

Julian.
