Seeking the wisdom of the community

Here’s the situation.

Car surging, feels like stammering, under acceleration. Furthermore in any gear, if I let off the accelerator and get back on it in an attempt to simply to maintain speed, car will jerk back and forth vigorously. Unless, it straight acceleration. No coasting.

NO Erratic Idle. No hard start. No misfires.

My thoughts:

-Bad throttle position sensor
-Faulty coil(s) [conditional fault]
-ECU Capacitors need to be replaced

  • Could it be as stupidly simple as bad mounts
-OR the perfect storm of ALL OF THE ABOVE
-Oh god dont let be a bad ground somewhere

I humbly ask of the collective, for your experienced opinions and/or direction.

Thanks to All.

Hi @Vertous ,

Firstly welcome to GTOUK. The club forum is separated into sections to help keep things easy to search for etc… you questions are of a technical nature and fall outside the remit of the newbie section which is for introducing yourself to the club.

There are many other sections on the forum for such questions. However, these are available to full members only as we operate on an annual subscription model - membership can be purchased here:

As per club rules on the newbie section I’m required to close this topic.

Many thanks,
