Oooooh, so tempted…

I havent even looked at mine since last time!

Cheers,

Ben.

I’ll probably come along, but I don’t think I’ll be running. The GTO is still in bits and I think I’ve buggered the Legnums gearbox :frowning: I’ll be in my usual capacity as photographer I think

Julian.

This will now be the 4th or 5th depending on weather,

Julian.

Maybe. I doubt my clutch will be bedded in by then but if the weather is dry then it would be a good spectator event.

would be nice to see you there Andy.

Julian.

I’ll be there

Can I grab a lift with anyone? Its either that or I drive all the way in the diesel Megane… :?

Cheers Julian.

All sorted, I’m going to grab a lift with Richard. Fingers crossed for some good weather and some good times

I was just reading the info on their webpage, it says you need to have a crash helmet. It then say you should checkout the downloads section for their saftey requirements, but I couldn’t find the docuement in the list.

Does anyone have any info on this, such as type of helmet, and where to get one cheaply and by the 4th of April?

I may well nip along - I’ve never tried it and would love to have a go.

If I’m going, which I’m fairly sure I will be, I have a spare lid which I can bring along if anyone needs one. It’s a medium (58cm to 59cm IIRC)

Because it is a Bank holiday we will be going a little earlier to beat traffic, leaving Jnc 27 around 8.30 ish, will post up nearer the weekend with which day if any at all cos of the weather  I also have a spare lid & i think mine is large, I will bring that one just in case.

Ten Item General Check List

1.Shakespeare County Raceway recommends you wear a helmet for drag racing.

  1. Bring your drivers licence for signing on. (MOT & Insurance documents may be asked for).

  2. Wear clothing that covers your arms and legs, and gloves if you are driving an open top car.

  3. Windows must be closed when racing.

  4. Seat Belts must be worn.

  5. Motorcycle riders to wear leathers, gloves and helmet (jeans & trainers not permitted).

  6. Regarding intercooler spray bars. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE not if you are drag racing! Shakespeare County Raceway cannot afford any fluids on the track surface. As you probably know, the track is treated for traction. The slightest moisture turns it into a skating rink! Even if you use the spray bar in the fire up road, there will still be drips when you get to the line. This means a clean up that eats into valuable racing time. The track policy is perfectly clear on this, any car dropping fluids will NOT be allowed to race!

  7. Make sure that your motorcycle is clean and not dropping oil.

  8. All motorcycles must have an adequate manufacturers or after market chain guard. Also oil & water catch cans if required.

  9. Shakespeare County Raceway reserves the right to define additional rules governing the running of the event and will advise all registered entrants accordingly. Track managements decision is final in any situation or dispute.

Cheers Julian.

Sweet, I’ll still try to get hold of one, but at least I don’t need to panic if I can’t find one  cheers guys!

Err i have a problem, have been up to Wizards of Nos today to do some testing  & we cannot get the system to run right, it`s coughing & backfiring & we cannot figure it out + i broke down on the way back it would appear the starter motor has given up the ghost as well, all in all not a very productive day for me & rather than risk any damage to my engine i had better give it a miss

Julian.

Sorry to hear that Julian, if you’d like to come along as a spectator I’m happy to give you a lift down there and back?

If not, could I perhaps pop over to yours and borrow that helmet off you? 8)

Dan.

That’s not good news mate, hope you can get it sorted without too many headaches. Just had a look at the forecast and it doesn’t look great for any of this weekend, hope that they are wrong… as usual

Dave

I think Sunday is supposed to be cloudy with sunny intervals. Presumably we wouldn’t be allowed on track if it’s even slightly damp though.

You will not be allowed on track even if someone spits on it  they are very strict on that, so if it looks like even a slightly moist sort of a day stay at home

Julian.
