Hmm,
quite confused, Sky sent me a bill for short of £1000 for my insurance.
Last year was only £750 fully comp with 6 points and mods declared.
What gives :?

im sure they will answer to this robbie as they do browse the forums in their best interests.im due for renewal in a couple of months with them aswell.you expect the premium to go down or stay the same not up.

When I renewed mine with them last year their quote was about £200 more than the year before. I got a quote from an internet search engine and they matched it without any problem so that might be worth a try.
Looking around this year now though as its due again in April.
Mine has gone up too and i don’t even drive the ■■■■■■ motor. Definitely time to start looking around again i think.
Mark.
I am afraid that is the cost of uninsured drivers. gone are the days that every year you would see a nice reduction incost.
Don’t ever be loyal to any one insurance company, there is always another company that will do you a better deal!..I personally go with whoever is the cheapest and don’t bother about bad reputations either because no mater how many people have good experiences there will always be just as many counter them that don’t…In short they will all shaft you given the chance!
Martyn
with all the companies out there saying “we guarantee to beat you renewal” insurers (both direct and through brokers such as sky/flux etc) have to look after their own interests. The companies who guarantee to beat your renewal only then to knock off a quid or two are normally the companies to blame. Without thses you’d probably find renewal quotes were a lot better.
That’s my two pennies worth anywho

PM received. Will give you a call when I’m back in the country early next month.
We do always search the market for the best possible price; unfortunately our insurers are insisting on renewal prices going up this year.
We do offer a price match service so if you do find a better price else where we an refer your case back to our underwriters to see if they can meet the price for you.
Thanks

+1 you only ever hear of bad experiences so i dont really pay attention to what people say about a company. go with whoever is cheapest/ offering the best level of cover.
I just browse and go with the cheapest. All the time I’ve had mine the broker has put it through Highway, so I get the same Insurance company each time just look for a better price.

Just renewed for the 3rd year running with Sky - well worth shopping around though for the best quote and then asking Sky to match it. Both this year and last year my premium fell dramatically by spending a few hours ringing round for a better deal

Thanks for the reply Ollie, but sky has offered me far less in the terms of the deal this year than last year and £250 difference without a claim or accident and 0 points is rediculous.
Yep, I binned Sky Insurance too.
It was cheaper to make a Traders Policy out than reinsure with Sky. (I have a LTD company so have none of the usual issues)
Certainly time to look for a new club company.
Mark
lol well if sky put mine up or keep it the same as £1600 for a non turbo then i will look somewhere else or just selll the car and get a twinturbo 3000gt and go on elephant for £700
They was why I got a 3000gt Maybe paid a bit more for for it, But saved £600 the first year on insurance, and It has been going down about £100 every year for the last 3 years, only £320 this year
Last time I asked sky they were still double elephant :!:
If you are young or had an accident that is the way forward
Simon
im 22 and was with elephant for first year but wen i asked bout modifications they would not insure me so i went with sky who was the cheapest for me
Daniel
Those with elephant remember to check that the cover you for commuting to work, as one guy got done for no insurance, he didn’t notice that it wasn’t on there and it’s how elephant get cheaper quotes.

Will be interesting to see what my renewal will be. After getting my quote reduced by price matching last year Sky did it for £385 with business use included.
Should get my renewal letter through in the next week so will see how much its going up by.
M1tch999 just sorted my insurance, £340 to include agreed valuation,
NCD protection, £250 excess, and Loss management cover.
SKY could not match this quote…
even though I had been with them for 2 years!!!
Strangest thing of all though, is that I’m insured with the same Company???
