Sky Vs Admiral

Just had my renewal through from SKY, paid £1056 last year, now its £986. Not a great saving for an extra years NCB. Just done a quote with Admiral, £799 FC…

Sky have got some work to do…

Is the cover like for like though on the two policies? i.e. sky often do gauranteed values etc etc.

Personally i like Sky because they are genuine car enthusiasts themselves, they know what your car is and what its worth and they understand different modifications. Plus at least when you phone them up they actually understand English!

If you tell sky that they’ll probably beat it or match it, come on guys play the game.

Insurance is a sales Industry and therefore open to Negotiation as nothing really costs what they tell you. If your sales rep cant be bothered with your business take it else where.

I have been with Admiral for the last few years, and Elephant the year before that is owned by Admiral.

They were also much cheaper that Sky.

I guess it is the Import J@mes that sky is good with, and the Uk cars have more competion

I was with elephant with my 306, then admiral for the 306 and 3000GT, then sky with the 3000GT as they were £400 cheaper than admiral last year. Not sure how they deal with mods, said on the website that i need to call them.

I will phone sky and see what they have to say, but unless they can get the quote down to around the same level, my business will go to admiral.

fun and games…

well elephant have come up trumps with £733…does the crap customer service put me off…is good customer service worth £250?

Nice one James 8)

im not totally convinced sky are that cheap now Tbh.

That said i am insured with them

Craig

Have you tried Keith Michaels?

JC

Why are you paying so much to insure a standard car, everyone keeps saying UK cars are cheaper to insure?

Mark

Dont forget im merely a boy at 22 Mark!

And yes, at this age UK cars are cheaper to insure!

Havent tried Keith michaels, got some ringing around to do…

How many years NCB do you have mate? I’m 23 with 4 years NCB (would be 6 is it wasn’t for changing policies mid term) and my insurance was about the £1080 mark with sky and I live in a very low crime area, car is garaged etc etc. Surprised yours is cheaper than mine although I suppose my car would be slightly more valuable.

got 4 years NCB on this car and 4 years on my 306 which is my daily drive, cat1 alarm, low crime area, car on the driveway out of site from the road.

gonna ring sky tonight and hope they uphold their reputation. 8)

Did anyone sort your renewal for you J@mes. We do have a price guarantee facility so the renewals dep should be able to get something closer to Admiral.

Hi, i havent rung you yet as i have been slightly busy, but will probably get on it tomorrow

Agreed with Sky on £813 after HAVING to declare this: http://www.gtouk.org.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=24462 as an accident.

It is no wonder people drive uninsured when honesty gets you ■■■■ on.

Its crap i tell ya, i was in an accident (not my fault as shunted from behind) and the insurrance company i was with at the time wanted £200 more from me on renewal!!! how that work out??? they said statisics prove people who are involved in an accident are more likey to have another…

I have just moved from Admiral to SKY!
After doing some minor modifications to my car, Admiral refused to insure the car with a boost controller fitted.
Admiral also refuse to pay out for any modifications made, whereas SKY will replace like for like. I have also gone for an agreed value, which in the unlikely event I do have an accident I will get a relistic sum of money, compared to “market value”.

Basically I would go with Admiral for a standard car, but if you have a boost controller etc, go with SKY.

Chooch

Jusy had my renewal through from Sky for £571. I got a quote from yescarinsurance.co.uk and also checked it with them over the phone etc for £385.36. Phoned Sky up and they matched this so no complaints here.
