Tried all the usual companies including Sky. Found Swinton’s on-line to be the cheapest. 50 yrs old, MK1 TT, 9 years ncb, car garaged overnight, £355 fully comp. Still think it’s expensive, but at least £100 cheaper than the rest.
I too am with Swinton. Now in the second year as they offered the best cover for the best price. At renewal time I got several reminders, which could be a bit of a negative point as I felt I was being pressured.
Are your cars a daily drive or weekends
Malc
Normally a daily drive for me but recently I’ve been getting a lift to work. My quote is based on 5000 miles per year, but the insurance company doesn’t know how many miles my car has done, so I the 5000 miles figure is irrelevant really.
ot the best ever quote for my car this year i admit you have to be over 25 for these figures but i have always based my insurance on an annual mileage of 5k, now i never get anywhere near that so asked then to reduce the mileage to 3k which reduced the premium by £100.00 to £280.00
Then the guy say’s to me, reduce the mileage to 1.5k a year and we can do the premium for £202.00, i said done.
What was his angle on this, well allegedly it seems that your fixed mileage a year, rolls over year on year what you don’t use, in my case that was 20k which gets added to this years premium
Now did anyone know that
I have always had a 7k guaranteed valuation on the car with £200.00 excess and £50.00 for the windscreen
This cover comes with breakdown cover home and abroad plus your legal fee etc.
The thing with this insurance is there’s no, no claims bonus’s attached to it so if you use this company and you didn’t have full no claims bonus and you move to another provider, obviously it stay’s at the bonus when you first moved to this company
But remember there’s a time limit on how long your bonus hangs around for
Worth a try

What company Malc? My renewal is due soon and with 10 years NCD I want to get it down to the £200 mark with a heavily reduced mileage like yours. Highly unlikely I will exceed 2000 miles a year.
mods declared? replaced on a like for like basis???
