TOTB (Ten of The Best)

Here’s a massive event run at Elvington Aerodrome nr York each year. This year it’s taking place on the 27th July 08.

I’ve posted up a link so you can see what it’s all about:

Price is £20 on the gate or £15 in advance online

There’s not many if any GTO’s involved, mostly scooby’s, evo’s, skyline’s, supra’s, so maybe we should change that? Answers on the Poll please…

I think its Dave Naxton who organises the GTO’s. The reason there are not many in it is due the entry requirements. If I recall you need to be in the 11’s or 12’s for the 1/4 mile and also meet other performance criteria which most of us fall short of.

There have been club members in this for the last few years but not many as you say.

Here’s the thread from last year.

Didn’t realise that Dave, just looked through the list of future events and noticed there was no mention of it, even though it’s so big. I’ve been before I had my GTO, but I severely doubt my car will be ready to perform at the required level this year…but hopefully next year…fingers crossed!

Been there the last 3 years. Hopefully this will be the 4th.

Cheers,

Ben.

there is usually a few of us local lads there, i never put my car on there but i always go to watch and catch up with the gto lot.
everytime i have been i have seen gtos there.
lots of imprezas with the gold wheels, there is some quick ones i know my mate alan bell always takes his 550 bhp scooby! good day out if the sun shines.

i should be heading to this.gonna tag along with simon from sitech(he is entering in his rs turbo) and chris (should be entering in his gto)
simon entered the handeling course last year , did 1 run and came 5th

Cool, hopefully we can meet up & I will see some of you there.

Good luck to those who are entering events. I will be spectating only this year, but in time hope to have a go if i can get the car up to standard.

John

Been to all bar the first one of the TOTB events…we make a weekend of it and camp over at Barmby Moor, which is all part of the fun.

Will be there again this year for sure

Ive been up to ten of the best for the last 4yrs running- its one of the best events to go to. I drive up from kent with the mkiv Supra boys & girls the night before and stay in a travellodge about 20 mins away- everyone goes out for a meal & many drinks the night before- always a good laugh, cant wait for this years!

Some interesting stuff being done by Envy Performance, GT-Art and Norris Designs for this season so it looks to be a good year on track and strip.

Good day out today and great to see some of you there. We eventually had to leave a little early as the lad was complaining about getting sunburnt as it was unbelievably hot once again.

I managed to get a photo of just about all the GTO’s I saw except the one that parked next to mine in the morning as he moved it, (sorry I forgot your name…lad from oxford - the sun’s got to me too).

Will post up some pics once I’ve edited the sizes and hosted them.

A few piccies from TOTB today, I think I have sun stroke  8) There were some right monster cars there

Julian.

Hey John, I forgive you for forgetting my name, it was VERY hot today!

And I didn’t move my car far, I took it down to the Eurospec pit area, saved me walking back each time I needed to top up on sun block!!!

I love this event, I’ve been for the past 4 years, and each time I think it’s been my favourite event, just because you can really walk amongst all the cars that are taking part. And helping out the Eurospec team is always entertaining too!

Well done to Ben & co again for persevering as usual, and for showing the potential of the beast again…records will be broken for sure pretty soon…

Gav

tigra and the mini caught my eye!!
we have sun stroke too
