Uprated FPR

As you informed me I really need a FPR with my Walbro.

After looking at your site I see you have the 3SX one but what else do I need to run it as a complete package (hoses/fittings etc)

can you supply these as well?

I’m interested in this as well. A full bolt on dual feed setup with a decent FPR such as Aeromotive and a gauge would be ideal.

I have indeed sourced a very cheap system to install a sx Performance FPR and use most of the exsisting fuel pipework, this will be fine for most cars not wanting to push over 450BHP or as a cheap get you going system.

The FPR’s as you know are £139.00 and are in stock

The pipe and Gauge Kit is going to be around £65.00.

I have the parts on order and will post some pictures as soon as i have the kits ready later this week

Cheers Rob

Thanks Rob,sounds ideal as not not inclined towards a FSE Power valve.

Thanks

Whats wrong with an FSE valve?
Three of the most powerful cars in our club run them…

I knew this would come up-just ive heard a few peolpe have had problems with them but nobody yet has said anything wrong about the 3SX one yet.

Adam

More importantly they are also nowhere near as shiny!

I’ve also heard a few mublings of discontent about them.

You heard mumbling about them from people that don’t know what there talking about. There are regulators around that work at higher flow rates and there are regulators that look prettier, but a FSE regulator works perfectly well.

The regulator in this thread works perfectly well and looks prettier than an FSE, does it work any better than an FSE no it doesn’t it works exactly the same.

Mark

Mark … when ever i see your posts, your sig picture always gets my attention towards the top left of it

Sorry to be off topic …

So to be on topic … im also looking to FPR myself up next month … (hope the missus doesnt see this, all our money is meant to be going towards our flat … good ol Abbey National credit card   )

Stu …

i used to have an fse but now have an aero motive one.

Heard that the fse wasn’t really that good but mine was replaced because when the engine was rebuilt and fired it decided to ■■■■ fuel all over the place, which isn’t what you want from a pressure regulator, especially as it was only around 5 years old

But then again im not in the top three cars so my opinion wont count

Dont the FSE valves come in 2 different ratios though

Regards

Craig

I’m interested in this Rob - any news yet?

I hope to have the last part into stock today and will hopefully post some pics tonight.

Cheers Rob

Rob any pics of the fitting kit for the 3SX fuel pressure regulator?

Robert.

FSE regulators come in 2 types. The one people have problems with is the “FSE Power Boost Valve” which changes the fuel pressure at different rates to make the car richer on initial acceleration. This makes tuning a fuel controller very difficult as you aren’t tuning for a set fuel pressure. The other type is a 1:1 normal pressure regulator made by FSE, which is just the same in operation as all the other types on the market. Unfortunately people hear that the FSE power boost valves are bad for tuning with, so they shy away from everything FSE.

Steve

FSE works. The 1:1 reg is fine. The power boost valve is a pig, for the reason steve said, but the 1:1 reg is fine.

Its not shiney, in my honest oppinion its not as well made as some others, but it does work and its the cheapest in the market. Oh, and you will find one under the bonnet of my car.

cheers,

Ben.

And there was a power boost valve under the bonet of mine until I fitted the Weldon Reg (And only beacuse of the amount of fuel I needed to return to the tank - IE -8AN pipe)

But if people want one that looks pretty by an SX or Aeromotive, if you want the best on the market then buy a Weldon or Kinsler. (Which also look sexy)

Mark

Not looked at a weldon yet, but Kinsler is certainly very very good.

Cheers,

Ben.
