Well for the foreseeable future i wont be arranging the Kent meets , Anyone want to continue arranging it I’m more than happy to give you the pubs email to book the date once a month.
As a Heating Engineer i am now on 200% overdrive with work and simply work just about 24/7, so much so i dont even have the time to finish my car

Well, in the absence of a volunteer to organise it, it looks like this fantastic meet is just going to disappear. I wish I had the time to do it but I don’t unfortunately.
I loved going to those meets, seeing all the beautiful cars and hearing the latest on what everyone’s done to theirs. Sitting outside in the sunshine chatting. I’ll never forget the first time I heard 12 or so GTOs start up together for the first time! wow! And to think I’ve got one!
It took something for me to come to the first meet on my own but I was welcomed with such friendliness I need not have worried. And as a result of the people I met at the Kent meet I’ve enjoyed going to other car shows with other GTO nuts - Santa Pod, Modified Madness, JAE. I’ve got fantastic new wheels on my car, a steering wheel and other bits and pieces. I’ve learned more about my car than I knew before through everyone’s willingness to chat to me about my car even though its not a TT and I don’t have a mechanical bone in my body!

However as i said im on just about 24 hour call out now till April so I dont have any time to myself, never mind time to arrange meets and muck about with cars etc.
I would still like to pop over to the meet once in a while IF it continues.
It’s something I’m constantly thinking about picking up on but I just don’t have ANY spare time at the moment and don’t see it changing in the next few months. If nobody else is going to step up then maybe early next year I’ll have a go but not having done anything like that before, I’m not sure how it will go.
I only went to one of the Kent meets but it was a great day and I know it will be a lot to live up to. I hope it can be taken over by somebody as it would be a shame to lose it.

im thinking about stepping up to this… be a shame to lose it and well we have 3 in the family again with 1 in the spray shop as we speak so. im thinking get a meet together for the christmas???

That would be magic if you did Jason. Can’t disappoint 3 GTOs!. And I’d definitely be up for a December meet.

If I can help at all then let me know, I’m only round the corner from you. The venue in Smarden is lovely, particularly in the summer, but you could always do one closer to Medway if it’s easier? Maybe the Malta Inn or somewhere like that?

wont be here prob, cars in tomorrow for MOT then gone soon after i hope done 2k in it this year not worth the insurance and tax and fule… very rare i have cars for more then 2 years so its coming up to 4 years with the GTO’s so something new is needed, with flying aswell now i just dont have the money to pay for the car and the performace parts and to make it look nice so no point thats why i wont do the kent meet…
Fair enough matey. It’s a shame as you’re one of the regulars to the Kent meet and it’s good to see you around town sometimes. Understandable though
