What is the SR model?

Hi everyone,
New to this site. It’s great.
My GTO is an SR model. 1996 import. Does anyone know what SR means? It has no decals apart from SR on the boot.
Thank you.

I think it’s a non turbo model for Japanese market.

l have an Sr as well, as Dave says sort of light weight, still heavy, so no rear steer abs cruise only drivers airbag no ecs(suspension), really the Mr and Sr models were down specced and could be sold at a lower price to gain sales for the range for Mitsubishi to those who might not want to pay for a full on gto.
l think they are excellent buys today because you have a simpler car, hopefully with less stuff to need repairing.
My Sr is the basis for my supercharged project.

Tubs not required…my car is fast n furious… In 2nd :joy:

96 makes it a MK3 Is this red? Did you buy it from a dealer recently… they are few and far between tbh… turbos are common as ■■■■ :joy:

abs and other stuff could be added back on as options, my 99 MR has it, but maybe it was std by then?
Rob probably knows if you check the vin no
