Will it be cheaper?

Just wondering if a UK TT is likely to be cheaper to insure than my FTO. This year i’ve paid out 1600 for insurance, was 22 when I got it last Sept with 3 yrs no claims. This year I expect a drop as now 23, 4yrs no claims and will go with sky and get my FTOOC discount, but imports seem to be ridiculous to insure. Love my FTO but the idea of 3.0 TT makes me

Possibly - but I doubt it.

Im sure some of our younger members might give you an idea of what you can expect to pay … however the best thing to do would be to just ring Sky and ask for a quote …

But its not all about insurance … a 3000GT will cost a lot more to run in fuel and servicing/repair than an FTO.

Im 22, 3 points, 3 yrs NCB and paying £1056 for my 3000GT. garaged, cat1, no mods, insured on other cars, missus on the policy.

A strange one this.

a chap i know had 2 quotes one for a TT and one for an FTO GPX, in his wife’s name and on her policy, the FTO came in at around £100 more expensive, the TT was a H plate and the FTO an N plater.( him and his wife are in their mid 50’s)
