Already checked it out Al. It’s a must for me too. The blog is still running in beta and will go live middle of Jan apparently. As soon as it’s available I’ll post the details up on here

I’ve been speaking with Yves and Carlos again today and it was decided that we will release the Europe meet blog site earlier than scheduled so we can start generating some interest:
www.3000gt.eu
Remember that it is trying to cater for 4 different languages so the English is a little broken in places but still very legible.
Let me know what y’all think.

What is everyone thinking, arrive as a group, then make your own way home, if you want to incorporate other plans?
I would like to drive by the Millau Viaduct, even better with a group of GTO/3000GT’s.
Cheers,
Ewan
I will be probably either come from home (Holland) or will go back home afterwards to see friends and family.

I will be visiting family but it can be before or after the meet, I’m easy. What are peoples thoughts on getting into France? Ferry or tunnel? I’ve had a look at pricing and there really isn’t much in it. My only reservation about the ferry is I did the speed ferry last year and got told to drive right up into the nose of the thing - it was a real tight squeeze and now the car is lowered I doubt I could get up there again without scrubbing by front bumper. Are there ramps to tackle with the Eurotunnel?

Look good Staff. Can anyone post comments etc or is it just Yves, Carlos and yourself? Do you know what sort of interest (i.e numbers) the other countries are generating?

I always take the ferry from Dover to Dunqerque which takes about 1:40 hour and when driving on the boat i either mention that my car is lowered or they see it them selves and instead of making you drive up the steep ramp to park with the cars they’ll direct you to the lower level and you’ll be parked with the busses and lorries (which also means you get off the boat first at the other end).
I’m discussing what to do with the missus at the moment but one thing is for sure, I WILL be going over the Millau viaduct at least once. It would be great to do a GT/GTO photoshoot with it in the background. I think I will be taking about 5 days out and doing a few nights in different towns across the south of France, not sure yet. It would be cool to do a convoy though if there’s many people crossing from Dover?
Last time I went to France I went to Dunkerque and I think it was as little as £40!! I’m going to get some prices together and post them on here eventually.
As far as I’m aware, anyone can post on 3000gt.eu Allen, give it a try
Facebook event created for this too…
Just checked the blog - can’t make that weekend sadly
Any other weekend would have been fine, but i’m away for a trip to Centre Parcs that weekend.
Still, hope you all have a great time 8)
That’s a real shame Scott, Centreparcs is nice but I know what I’d rather be doing.
I see that Nectar points can also be used to get a discount on the crossing, as well as Tesco Clubcard and I’m sure many other places.
Can a moderator change the title of the post to include the date of the event please? I’m definitely up for this, so shall we start a list of definites and maybes:

Booked and paid already unfortunately
Hey staff have you got a link for the facebook event?
I think Facebook is down at the moment so I’ll post a link up shortly.
I know Scoob can’t make it now unfortunately, and I’m sorry to hear you can’t either Scott. I hope you have a great time though.

Faceache is working fine for me. I’ll definitely have a great time at centre parcs - 8 mates, enough alcohol to raise George Best from his coffin and plenty to see and do.
But i’d still rather be heading for the south of France in the GTO 8)
So it seems that some of us will be breaking away from the convoy either on the way down or the way back - I for one will be meeting my parents on the west coast, but this can be either before or after the meet.
I was thinking, if we are all going to travel in convoy it would probably be better to do it on the way to the meet, rather than coming back. Reasons being, if people get into difficulties with the language or directions or their cars etc, it is much more likely to be on the way there, and other people will be around to help out. Then if people want to do their own thing they can do it after the meet and the rest can travel back in convoy. There is a Formule 1 hotel (very basic but very cheap) in Clermont-Ferrand which is about 3 hours north of the meet. I think we could make it that far in one day easily, and then travel in the morning to the meet, crossing the Millau Viaduct on the way (It will be gorgeous in the morning sun). That way, people who can only spare a little amount of time in France could make it there and back in 3 days easily, leaving on the Friday morning and back by Sunday night (spending both nights in Clermont-Ferrand). Those that want to spend longer in France can break away from the convoy and do so without fear of holding other people up.
What do people think about that? It’s only an idea so please air your views otherwise nobody will know what’s best to do.
I think you’re right about the convoy Allen, but I think I will be travelling down on Thursday. I’m a not certain yet as to what the plan is as it depends on if Ilana’s daughter is coming with us or not. If she is, we will probably stop somewhere over night and split the journey in 2. If not, we’ll probably drive straight there. At this stage though, everything could change.
Yves, Carlos and me were all talking on Skype a couple of nights ago and were discussing the accomodation side of things and Yves will hopefully be negotiating a group rate for a local hotel so I wouldn’t rush into anything just yet.
Seafrance have just offered us a 10% discount on group bookings to cross the channel. I’m still awaiting responses from other carriers…

Just bought the new AA Best Drives France book to make sure the journey down is as interesting as possible. Some good routes in there.
So where are all the usual names then? I’m surprised people aren’t signing up, or is it just that people are holding back until closer the time?
