OK - Iv just got off the phone to Lagersteer … and my car might make it now ! Whoo! :bandance:
We have to make the new manifolds for the new turbos/install the new engine/map the engine. Then there’s the run in period + a few other things that need tweeking before it can go on a track.
If its at all possible I’ll be at this event. I wont be holding back either … I’ll try and break the club record for us … or break the car trying. My money’s on the latter …

Hope to see you there.

Adam, you do realise this is next week, not next year???
Marty
I would of done it but my car will be too loud and at the moment it is waiting to be stripped down so I can O ring block and fit some more new goodies!
Contacted Power and Performance (The Powerflow people in Honningham) the guys that made my exhaust, he said to send him a drawing and they will make up some baffles to fit the silencers, if all goes to plan
Our non-turbo passed the noise test at Castle Combe at Japfest, and both me and Becky have the day off work next week so put us down as definates please.
We’ll come and fly the flag for the bog standard non turbo corner 8). Remember, it’s not about putting out your fastest, but a broad range to show what the car performs like in its various guises and stages of tune .
Hi guys, I understand your reservations about the sound test, but if you can get through Castle Combe… Bruntingthorpe will be fine.
As stated before, I know it’s short notice and as ever we appreciate the huge effort it takes to get eight cars there. It’s all looking good so far though, haven’t mentioned this before but I was a Mitsubishi Salesman for six weeks back in '98 and drove a GT brand new… So I’ve got a vested interest in this one. If only I could remember the number plate?
Mark, I would guess your exhaust is as loud as my NA exhaust, as the last time I drove it without rear seats/boot fittings installed, it was as deafening as when you gave us a lift to TV2005 in yours!!! Mine only just scraped through tests at Castle Combe (the testers were usually quite quick, but in our case took ages on each pipe). Hopefully yours will scrape through the tests for a run .
Becky’s told me that she’s got to work on the 15th, which means I might be able to sneak at least a single point wet nitrous kit on the car, possibly the full kit and cabudle! Just need to call in the favours and put some time in 8).
[quote]I’m up for this but the last time my exhaust was tested it was 114Db. So it looks like I’ll be making some exhaust inserts this weekend.
Is that correct James? The last time mine was tested Ian held the meter a lot closer maybe I’ll be a bit quieter at that distance

Looking on some trackday site they say that they measure at 1.0 metre at Bruntingthorpe. I presume it is averaged over 15 seconds aswell? I am gonna do a check very shortly - but not too hopeful.
97 dB(A) at 1.0 metre and 98 dB(A) at 0.5 metre. Both readings at 4000 rpm with the meter basically inline to the exhaust. This is with my 3 " straight through exhaust. I do noise emission testing as part of my job so I am fully confident of these results. The thing with noise emission testing it is very easy to do the test wrong, have the equipment set wrong, read the wrong value etc, etc.
So I am in - assuming there are still places left.
I have looked through the thread, and these are the people who have expressed a wish to participate. This list is in the order of wish to participate expressed.

Now, how do we decide who gets to have a go?
Do we do it in order of replies, who has most chance of making it, fastest, a spread of different cars, etc…???
Great to see a good take up, this is where it gets tricky deciding who can come. It’s not really for me to say as I’m sure you all know each other, and I don’t. Best bet is to create the widest spread of modifications from standard up… And those that do commit, do so 100%. Bagging a place then not showing doesn’t make any friends…
So, like I say I’ll leave it to you, you’re better qualified to assess what would look best in the magazine than me, after all they’re your cars!
