Well Done guys, sorry for the cars that got broken.
If this event comes around again I would love to give it a shot,
& it would be fantastic to get out on the handing track with my GT, the last time I was there, I had my first shot at driving DMC bmw M5,
that was good fun.
What Nos shots were being used ?
What was the fastest car, that like my car, still has the old fashioned  NO Nos fitted set up ?
If we could get 100 cars there, it would be £54 each. have the AGM/parking up and chatting/showing etc on the saturday afternoon/evening, watching other people using the track etc if there is anyone else there. camp on the airfield.
Sunday could be split into sessions, 2 hours of drag racing & top speed on the straight, then circuit driving for 2 hours, or something along those lines. Its something i would spend £100 - £200 on. thats how much it costs for a days track action in the 306, but something like this would be soooo much better.
look how far the US guys are travelling to the NG - most of their states are 4 times the size of our country. theres no reason that with the support of the members, this could not go ahead.
I would be interested to take mine to the Pod now and see what it does there. I am pretty sure that the surface at Brunters (big concrete slabs sealed with rubber strips) would have an affect on times.

best get myself to a RWYB![/quote]
I was told the pod is gives more grip now its warmer, but when James & I did our runs in Feb there was no grip with my Toyo’s & there was no way to get the tyres warm. I was thinking how much quicker I might have been of the line,by getting some good grip on the Bruntingthorpe concrete

The Bruntingthorpe surface looks grippy but, according to Jtuner, is quite dusty. My 60 ft times confirm this as I could only manage a 2.015 when I have done 1.8-- at the Pod and Stratford. It’s all swings and roundabouts though Del. Feb is nice with lovely dense cold air but low grip. Now we have good grip but relatively thin warm air.
Get yourself down the strip again Del and James. There is a rwyb this weekend, on Saturday 24 June. I can’t make it but will definitely be going to another one shortly.

Hi James, thanks for the info mate, cash is very tight for now,and my cars needs are on the slow burn for now :x
Which car from the club ran the fastest time not using nos :?:
Ps Fantastic new pb, 11’s are so close, now you’ll need to update your foot note again James  8)
I think my interest in finding out which car ran the fastest time without using nos, has got some people wondering about why I should be interested about it in the first place, I can only think thats because they don’t know me.
When the club made the Garage forum dawn & I spent a great deal of time, to be as honest, and as detailed as we could,
to try and show the way we changed our car to achieve these results,
it was done with the intension of helping club members, and making it as easy as we could for other see/learn/copy/change and improve, on what we did or had done to our car.
I love speed, so yes I think Nos is great,it can make cars faster 8) for a few seconds but I really can’t believe or understand that I might to be the only person who would like to know more about the benefits of using it on our cars.
I had all to breif time at racing years ago,
so I know thats a lot, about not letting anyone know your tuning & set ups,
but after talking to our top running drivers, and looking a great posts from Mark F & others,
i think we are very open about tuning and mods, im glad to say.
For me it was never about building the fastest/best looking/ect, ect, it was about trying to make it a great road/track day car that suits the way I like to drive,
some things were also done to the car to keep Dawn happy
Top prize over the 1/4 mile, will and should always go to the quickest time, However ALL MEMBERS that run their cars up the strip take the same risks of braking somthing very expensive. so why can’t we let them all know the set up & fuels others are using, to be able to workout how they are running against other cars with their sort of set up & fuels, even if there is no prize for them at the end of the year.
regards Dell
I guess if you had asked what set-ups people were running, then you’d have got loads of replies with lists of mods and how they’re set-up.
When you aksed who the fastest was without nitrous, it reminded me of someone who spent ages telling me that nitrous is cheating, and that times with nitrous don’t count in his book. The reality is that a good nitrous kit with progressive control and all the supporting mods, will cost the same as a turbo or supercharger conversion with supporting mods - both take as long to do and will bite you if you get the tuning wrong!
Your post reminded me to get my garage up to date, so I’ve been filling in all the NA GTO’s mods in there today. Just need to add up to date pictures now 8).
I would like to say thanks to the JTuner team for a great day out that went a bit sideways for Stef and I at the end, but fun anyway. Lots of good discussions, a good bbq and loads of laughs.
Well, as most of you know, I was the other Marc with trouble at the thrash. It looks as though there is a cracked piston and a ragged crank, but the engine will be out tomorrow and we will find out. I will keep everybody aware of what goes on and try to get pics.
As for the times, I have to say my lack of drag experience was a big factor, and the misfires before gear changes didn’t help. I did the 0-30 feet in 2.8 secs, 0.8 secs slower than anyone else! After that, it pulled REALLY well. We will be back with TT pistons, a smaller pulley wheel (15psi?) and new management as the SAFC is obviously not man enough for this application.
