As a number of you guys attended the Lakes Sportscar Run last year I have reserved 8 spaces for GTOs (and variants) to take … based on a first come first serve basis.
Numbers for each type of car/club have been carefully selected to control car numbers (and types) on the day.
Event details:
Date – Sunday 2nd September 2007
Time – 11:00am
Location – Penrith Golf club, Cumbria
The emphasis this year is more on the driver’s roads and for this reason the FULL length of the Hartside run will be the starter for the day’s drive. This is to ensure everyone who meets up gets to go on, what has been voted on numerous occasions as, THE best driver’s road in England.
The route will then bring you over to Carlisle Airport where I have arranged with the Airport Manager to allow us to park close to the legendary Vulcan bomber for a photo shoot if you choose to do so.
From here the route will take you over the north side of Carlisle and then drop down into the Lake district and gradually back to Penrith where we will finish at the Stoneybeck Pub for refreshments.
The route is slightly shorter than last year’s route due to the types of cars expected. (Some of them are dedicated track cars that don’t have big fuel tanks).
All roads on the route are sportscar friendly by the way.

Hi Dave. at last the cars going great did 600 miles in her at the weekend went to the agm then up to this place called wales  for a couple of nights at our caravan
unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control, myself & Diane will now not be able to attend this event, so if anyone else was interested our space will now be available.
Aye, I noticed you had put your name down…not sure if there would be anymore places but I fancy a drive through the lakes for sure…maybe we can talk Ewan into going if theres a space? Will give you a call sometime to discuss meeting up and convoying down! Hows the gearbox and clutch situation.
Ewan and I are going to do my clutch and gearbox some weekend and then when he’s decided about gearbox syncro’s we will do his…so we will be absolute experts by that time…maybe you want Mr Clutch and Mr Sprocket to do yours at some point!
