I disconnect my battery when parked up and have never had any issues with the MAFT Pro. The only problem is that with a weak battery and the starter hot wire mod in combination I dont think the MAFT gets sufficient stable current to allow the engine to fire properly. Thats why I disconnect my battery when not in use so that it is always fully charged and ready to go when I want to use the car.
Best regards and happy new year,
Damien.
so are you saying its cleared?
MAFT Pros do not lose there data when the car batterey is flat.
Cheers Rob
so any ideas why its flooding now then and it wasnt before?
have you plugged a laptop into it to see if the map/settings are still there?
i am goin to try that today,
i did not have much luck with the maft when i did it myself so didnt really want to touch it
how will i know if it has a map on it
this will be fun to explain without tuner pro in front of me lol
To see if it has still got the map in the unit when you connect the laptop up and press the connection tab it will either say the name of the map in the top bar or iirc you press the down arrow and it will download the map onto your laptop (it also stays on the maft so dont worry about that, it just copies whats on the maft)
Pete
thanks for taking time to explain pete
i will try tonight , prob be a disaster lol
sort of hope it hasnt got map so thats all prob is
I believe its a car main ECU problem, as the only common denominator is the battery was off for a while.
This is a known cause of capacitor failure in the main car ecu, when it has no voltage for a period of time.
Just an idea
Cheers Rob

Sound familiar ??
yes elton i was speaking from experience , thats why i did !!!
All he has to do is connect a laptop and press 3 bits- anyone who can find a fuse box could do it
Just in case though, the connection tab is the one with a little plug symbol!
ok have done it and it was empty, is this a faulty maft pro?
car is flooded now and wont start at all
I wouldnt have thought that the maft pro is faulty mate, the only thing i can say is to take the plugs out and let them dry/burn them off or leave the car for at least 2-3hrs. Dont try to start it unless you have a copy of the map to upload, if you do then upload that and see what happens but give the plugs time to dry otherwise it wont fire properly.
I’ll be with dannys car either tomorrow or the day after so i will see if his has done the same thing. We could be dealing with two different issues here so until i get to check his car i cant really say much- i dont want to say its the maft pro when something might have come unplugged or something stupid like that- ive just done alot of work on his car so i cant rule that out either.
I’ll post back here when ive given it a look.
any joy pete
Not yet mate, i didnt get over to the car today but will be over there about 3pm tomorrow with Rob- i’ll try and post our findings before we all leave dans (we are all driving up to the NEC for the Autosport show)
anything ?
thinking of putting standard injectors back in and turning on without maft and see what happens
anything??
hey, sorry about the delay we have only just got back and i didnt have time to post back
we hooked up the laptop to the car and the map is still there, are you sure you have got the maft pro communicating with your laptop before trying to download the map?
also do you still have your stock 02’s plugged in or are you running totally off a wideband?
