Hi all. I am new to the GTO scene and will be picking up my beauty on Saturday. She’s a 1995 GTO twin turbo. I come from the Nissan Silvia club and still have my S14 with over 300bhp. Hopefully the GTO will soon be a bit quicker than that
Hi Max,
Nice to see new faces. I hope your happy with your purchase, have to get some photos up once you’ve collected the car on the weekend.
Steve
Welcome Maxx, post up some pics when you collect.
Will do guys! Thanks for the warm welcome!
It shouldn’t take very much effort all to get it over 300hp. Some very knowledgable people here regarding power upgrades.
If you swap it for a real 3000GT it will be over 300hp
Hi Max,
Welcome to our little community, you’re definately in the right place for a new GTO owner, heaps of knowledge and freindly fellow owners to help you along the way.
Where abouts are you from?
Tracie
Welcome to GTOUK buddy, bet you are buzzing after your drive
Steve
Welcome to GTOUK,
Running 300bhp is not far from standard with these cars, so wont take much to get more power. There is loads of information for different setup routes you can take on the forum.
Neil.
Wow thanks for all the welcomes people.
To answer some questions it is a twin turbo so no 300bhp isn’t going to be difficult at all. However S-bodies are much much lighter than the GTO’s so I am expecting to need over 350 to be on par with my S14. Anyway my short term target it around 380-400 and I have been doing plenty of research on how to get there. Plus a friend of mine used to work at (and is still very close to the guys) at Eurospec in Guildford so even though I prefer to work on my cars myself, I am sure I will be popping in there for some advice.
I am from Worthing, near Brighton on the south coast.
And to be honest going from my S14 into a GTO didn’t leaving me “buzzing” as such. It was quite a bit slower. But it has so much more grip and was a joy to drive and I know there is plenty of potential there so I can’t wait to get started
Hard to get that ‘new car’ feel from a 20-year-old motor. My drive back, and there are plenty similar horror stories on here, was tempered by disappearing brakes, odd rattles and clunks, and I wasn’t even going to try and push the car - I still haven’t although I think the next time she comes down off the ramps - probably another month - she’ll be ready for a proper blasting, which will be the first time I really get to experience what a car I’ve already owned several months, actually feels like to drive.
Please do post up as many photos and info on the mods you are doing as possible - I am coming from the other end and doing cleanup/service, major fixes, interior, ICE and paintwork just now; modification/performance will be the last thing I do, so will be interested to see what your plans are.
Hi Max! Welcome to the club! …I know this is a GTO club but can you stick a picture of your S14 up please…one of my other loves!! …maybe one day I’ll get 3 cars & live of beans & bread! But seriously…stick some up of both cars please!
Welcome to the club, good to see another Southern owner. Make sure you get some pics up and get to a meet see what we are all about.
Hi fella welcome to GTOUK
Regards
Craig
Just for you goo! And she is up for sale if you want to make me an offer
And really amazing to get so many welcomes on an introduction thread!
With SXOC I think 2 people replied and one of them was to tell me I had posted in the wrong section! haha
It’s a really friendly place here, but it also helps that 90% of the membership don’t seem to do any work! You’ll begin to see that the forum is active all day, so people are obviously here rather than working.
Thanks Max she’s lovely!!..maybe one day (in 2.5yrs when my GTO dept is paid off!! ) I don’t even know much about them other than they look really cool & they drift!
Haha Steven that’s so true!
@Steven hey cheek of it, women can multi task, for instance I’m calculating our VAT return and posting on here at the same time
Tracie
@goo_chummer Any time! Any they are fantastic cars. I will be really sad to see her go. If you are near by me then I would be happy to take you for a spin before she goes!
I love a good S14 me, looks really nice Maxx. it’s always a shame to get rid of cars especially after putting a bit of work into them. I for one couldn’t let my 3000GT go after all the work iv’e done on it so far. Well for one I’m never going to see the money back and second, I love it too much.
