I’d like to do the 'Ring again. European GTO meet there sounds good. Already booked for the Faro run (motorcycle event) which is in July, so will hafta work round that but provisionally Im in.

I’ve never been and would like to try and go with a group, if it gets sorted for next year.
Assuming my car stays on the road till then, count me and the wife in please.

in light of j@mes reply to the over the top testoserone (if i spelt it right)why would anyone want to go if you are all argueing and bickering already about it, man what is up with you guys??

If by the time of this event being confirmed I have not re-mortgaged the house to keep the GTO going , I would love to go to the 'Ring .

If everyone is agreeable I am going to get this thread killed and start another one, where hopefuly we can stick to the point i.e. Nurburgring trip June/July 2007 and not go off on tangents like an April trip or a European GTO meeting, which anybody who has actually been to the ring would know is impossible.

For all of you who have not been DO IT.
there are good hotels nearby, can get booked on the night or pre boook, no deposits are required.
plenty of garages nearby in case of emergency.
Meeting place it is not, too many things going on.
pick a date, and stick to it. gto ers will probably need 2 petrol stops, I will not go through tunnel but can meet you at nurburgring on designated time.
Any one wants anything booked let me know.

Apparently there is a European GTO meet being planned for sometime in the future, maybe it would be a good idea to combine the 2 events to save on fuel and ferries? :lol: .

did you read Ian’s (Telly boy) post at the top of this page,
the date for the ring opening next year are not out yet
i would be will to help in getting this event off the ground but will need to know what people want and when they want to go

It would not be possible to hold a European GTO meet there as there simply isn’t the room for it, nor is there the hotel space. To try and hold such a thing there on a public day, which it would have to be, would be a disaster.
I do, however, have a contact who might rent half a dozen or so of us a house with garages literally on the doorstep of the track, I mean, like 200 yards.
The only banker weekend without the calendar is Easter weekend and to be quite frank you are welcome to it because the world and his wife knows about it.
Unless someone else knows better, of course…

i wasnt thinking that the euro met was at the ring but somewhere they had arranged between themsleves and we would gatecrash

Potential dates out 7th July, back 10th July. On the track all day Sunday 8th and most likely PM on Monday 9th. The morning of the 9th will allow visits to the Nurburgring Museum and getting rid of hangover etc.
I want it to coincide with the arrival of the Scumball Rally lot so they can see what a real nice car looks like!
Might shift a week either way dependant on the calendar, which, for the umpteenth time, is not out till Februray 2007.
Based on the above, I want the names of definite in’s. Maybes will not do.
I’d wait until the UK based show dates have been announced before planning anything - JAE falls in july
