err…that date refers to the JAE dates and you have to be a club member to bring a car into the showground…I assume that you want info on the Ring trip, which i have nothing to do with.

Having visited the Nürburgring regularly for the past six years I have learnt to expect all Touristenfahrten opening times to be provisional no matter when released, in the past even on the busiest days (eg Easter) they have changed opening times just a few days in advance. The dates released at the beginning of January are usually the minimum open days and quite often you can turn up on a listed “Closed” day to find it open.
Unless you plan to go on one of the busiest weekends it would be worth keeping an eye on the http://www.nuerburgring.de calendar.
I’m sure the http://www.thenurburgringexperience.co.uk do a sterling job but why not organise it yourself, its all very easy. A cheap channel crossing & accommodation are both easy to find and book, make sure you have euro breakdown cover and travel insurance then all you have to do is find the place, its as simple as that. For those who have never been before there is plenty of advice to found in the main car park or at least pop over to Bens site http://nurburgring.org.uk/ for a start.
As for going over in your 306… If its your first visit its probably a very good choice of car to take, quite often people who turn up for their first Nürburgring trip in fast cars can let pride take over from common sense, this quickly becomes red mist which can lead to a very expensive Armco bill. If its your first visit to the Ring your going to get swiftly overtaken by some cars that shouldn’t be able to keep up let alone get passed no matter what you are driving, so a 306 is a ideal car for a first time out.

Well, to put things in a nutshell:
Alex and I offer to organize a trip based on what we did in the last two years.
First off, up pipes someone about another similar trip being planned, which to my knowledge didn’t actually happen.
Then someone else posts up about this however many hundred quid it was, not inc fuel, for some alternative trip.
Then the European GTO/3000GT meet which I said there is not the room for then it gets mentioned again…
The fact that we were supposed to be organising the trip got lost somewhere.
I’ve never been to the Nurburgh Ring but would love to go…is the normal idea to just drive there in yoru cars, find hotels en route and drive the ring for the day…then tour back… im confused at the mention of tour organisers and fuel costs etc…I always wanted to do and also visit the Audi museum in Ingolstat on the way home!

Can recommend a couple hotels around the nurburg ring.
approx price between 90 and 164 euro. the closer to the ring( at the ring ) the more you pay.
Hotels are very flexible but meals do finish at around 9 ish( we were lucky to get served at 11, after getting"sidetracked" )
from dover to nurbergring you might need an over night stop, any sofitel/holiday in will have space at the last minute.allow £150.oo for petrol to get there.

Ian it is unfortunate you feel that way as you have had previous experience.
However people posting sites that show rough costs and venues and photos surely isn’t an issue. There have been some really good sites put forward and may well of pursuaded people to take a trip out there.
Time to close this one down and start another if people are still interested and if you are going this year post up your times and photos etc.
