Shipping my GTO to Australia

As some of you know I have been trying to get my car shipped to Australia for some time.

I have been here for over 2 years now…damn time flies!

With Sumiyaka going pop, car going missing, paint shop saying they had done the work when they hadn’t have a few health scares etc. etc., it has taken some time.

But looking at this web page http://www.vesselfinder.com/?imo=9494541 it looks like the ship with it on, has docked in the port about 10 miles from my house.

I have already spoken to a local agent to get all the customs paper work sorted for me, and deal with all the import duty, valuation, quarantine etc etc.

So hopefully only a few more weeks left, then I have got to get it tested and plated.

Mark

Glad to hear that your finally getting your car back. I couldn’t imagine being without mine for so long, especially not even being able to see it!?!

It looks like it’s been reshaped as well as in your link picture of it on the ship it looks more like a box… :stuck_out_tongue:

Glad your almost reunited with your motor again

Well done Mark, now look after the wheels I exchanged with you for the trip  & if the alarm goes wrong I no longer do call outs

Julian.

Well my car is out of its container now, and awaiting AQIS (Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service) and valuation.

Mark

Cool, hope it all goes smoothly

Valuation done, they say it’s worth $20,000

Mark

Nice! That’s a little over £12,000! When do you finally get to drive it home?

I’d bite their hand off Mark and buy two more :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

That is unknown at the moment depends on how long AQIS take.

Mark

Well chuffed for you Mark,

I know they fetch more money in Oz. Seen some really crap ones for around $20,000.

Catch up with you when we get over there buddy.

Imagine how much more it would have been worth with a proper spoiler instead of that trolley handle .

Glad you got it there in the end Mark , Well done to Boo also i feel for turning it around quickly for you , Have to get some photos of it for us all , your challenge is to get it pictured with a kangaroo and a wallaby and sonic the hedgehog

Craig

Nice one mate!!! now you can start to enjoy it!

Just keep an eye on the water temp during those hot summer days  !

Car is ready to be picked up, I am going to get it tomorrow and drive it home

Only allowed to drive it home though as it is not road certified or registered, had to apply for a temporary movement permit.

Just hope it starts now else I will have to get a company in quick to move it.

Will post pics when I get some.

Mark

Cool, hope it all goes according to plan!

After all this time Mark I suppose you may be tempted to take the “scenic route” on your permitted drive home----say about 100 miles or so
