Comparison websites will not get you a good price. You have 14 days to cancel any insurance policy which they have to allow you by law and the most they can charge you is an admin fee which last time I checked was capped at £14.50! (The EU got something right). There even used to be a scam to cancel insurance every 2 weeks and take a policy with someone else. That was your insurance cost £377 a year no matter what.

Cancel your policy now if you are still in the 14 days and call specialist companies like Footman James and Adrian flux. They specialise in classic/performance cars and even at a young age with little experience they will smash your £2500 out the park. If it’s not in the region of 10% of that I will be shocked.

Try Footman james when you ready for renewal!
I had mine in the post today £176.00 a year and I’m 28 also have 3 points for speeding.
You can still cancel your policy with cancellation charge of one month .
I would suggest get quote from them tomorrow if its below £300 a year then might as well cancel .

Definitely have the 14 day cooling off period. Not sure about the fee though. I think now they are allowed to charge for the days you were covered for now as well.

Hi any more recent recommendations for insurance deals please? Cheapest fully comp I could find in a unmodified TT was £650. Just off the phone from Footman Jones and they said since Oct last year they no longer cover GTO’s dam! Filled out a web form from rhspecialistinsurance and waiting on them getting back to me.

By the sounds of it RH seem to be the best solution at the moment. Jackie seems to be the one to speak to. Ask for her and tell her you are a member here and see what they say.

Please ring Jackie directly she is dealing with all gto uk insurance now, getting the best deal for our members, i arranged this personally myself to get you the best deal, don’t accept any quote till you have spoken with her, just give my name and gto uk as reference.

Thanks Dave will do, all being well pick my new motor up on Sat!!! Much excitement had a MK1 TT about 12 years ago, unfortunately didn’t have it long enough. This one planning on long term fingers crossed I haven’t got a duff :+1:
