Little update… what a great design this Rear Steering Rack is!
Almost got the Subframe low enough to remove the Rack but left it for now before I lost my patience! Now thinking, if the Second Hand Rack has been in the Boot for 6 years then surely the Seals will have dried and gone brittle = leaks!
It’s such a pain of a job I don’t want to do it twice so…anyone know of a

  1. Rack rebuilder,
  2. anyone rebuilt their own one,
  3. anyone got a GOOD Rack formSale

Martin,
I’m certain I have seen a company on this site which specialises in steering rack overhaul. Yes, the front rack, but I guess they’d be quite capable of refurbing a rear rack, likely on an exchange basis of course. Might even be a simpler job for them.
I’ll have a search around.

Hi All,
