Cheers Ben, it was good to get a couple of runs that more or less concurred with the dyno I used last time. Repeatability is what I was looking for.
Let’s see what it can do on the strip next :twisted:

ha Ha Ha good 1 chaz ,
you know why you produced all that power on the rollers with your feet was cos you were an angry man! lol
No the only reason my van produced same as Jasons cas was because they are both " non turbo"
[quote]Do not forget Sonic they have 225 bhp when new, yours is now 12 years old.
When Miller and myself had ours put on a dyno a couple of years ago, Miller had 230 bhp and mine had 213 bhp with a few mods.Thats why when my engine packed up for the third time i went the whole hog and did every mod i could think of barring modified cams.
You don’t half notice the difference when you do do a proper rebuild and end up with a no mileage engine.

Rob, i now in hindsight and after hearing similar stories think the 230bhp mine acheived MAY have been misguided. Downhill Dynos are great on their day. When i had it dynoed before i sold it at Nemesis organised day in Surrey it came in at 203bhp i think. Prob nearer the mark this one!
So Jas its not only yourself thats had that thrown at ya!!!
Some good figures there! Last car off at 7pm :shock: bet they loved that
Wow that is interesting as I always thought it was 60/40.
Looks like it was a great day out…It looks like all the cars did well, but how did the dyno itself perform as that is one hell of a battering in one day…
More photos please…
Great day!
Nice to see a few new faces, and old ones.
Many thanks to Karen for being the hostess with the mostess.
And Ben, I might get my tits out at the AGM, if I get a bit tipsy.

as for how did the dyno perform on the day it was pretty faultless as far as a laymen can tell . The only real issue being the huge cooling fan breaking one of its fan holding brackets and nearly doing some nasty damage to the car that was in front of it at the time. Then the other issue was getting some of the lower cars up onto the dyno but the crew did a great job with some well placed planks and blocks of wood
I had an interesting day at the meet, just a shame dannys car wasnt running. It was good to see everyone- Ivan sorry I didnt remember you at first bud! :oops: If you, paul and gav have a dyno day i’ll pop down, will be interesting to see your car once done. 8)
That was me jason! look for a cheep Apexi SAFC- look on some forums and these can be had from about £50 used and for that money it would be worth getting. P.s will send you the pics of the carbon kit later Took a pic of your car…
I took a few other pics but spent most of the day chatting to people so heres my poor effort!
Danny_c looking at his poor car wondering will it ever be finished;
Eurospec Workshop;
Outside;
Overall I came away from the day thinking it was nice to see everyone and have the dyno day, but as a few others said I couldnt help feeling disappointed that there wasnt anything new to see- its like the GTO club scene has stood still over the last 3-4 years. However Andre’s car made good numbers- why arent there more cars like his around, its not like it cant be done!
Pete
looks pritty clean their… cant wait to see your kit for it im sure some1 can photo shop it onto the car aswell then we can see what it would really look like
Only 13 cars running :shock: thought there would be more… :?
Ben, why did you not put your GTO on?
Thanks,
Ewan
Bens car is undergoing major surgery by the looks of it and is minus an engine at the moment,
thanks to all who were involved with the organizing and running of the day,
was the first time i’d been to a dyno and although i didn’t run mine, it was interesting to see how it was done,
also was good to meet more members and catch up with the ones i’ve met before,
PS Ben, don’t forget you’ve got to charge Ray for breaking the floor :shock: :twisted:

Probably still make more power than mine though
My car lifted its heads! ARP Studs it seems cannot hold down 800+ horse.
I have it apart to change the head gaskets and go back to stock bolts.
Thanks very much to everyone who came down. It sounds like it was an enjoyable day for everyone- which is what we were hoping for.
Cheers,
Ben.
I thought you’d blown the umpteenth gearbox?
Anyway, back to the dyno. Ben, what is causing my slopeoff of boost? The turbos or the EBC?
Yeah i bust the gearbox too, but thats been fixed. I’ve lost count on gearboxes!
I would guess yours is a b/c issue ian, but iirc wasnt it pretty much maxing out on IDC?
Check your plumbing- i think i’m correct in saying you had already removed the stock boost solenoid, but if not that needs to come out.
Flat boost curve of the day went to the blitz sbc-id of eltons, closely followed by chazzys apexi avcr.
It may be that you need to increase the gain setting, but if you post your curve or pm me your reg i will look it up and i’ll be able to advise you better.
Cheers,
Ben.

Is that a good or bad thing this flat boost? sorry but i am a bit confused, you know me :? :?
Its a good thing, it means it holds the boost at the level you set. Many b/cs drop off into the rev range.
Cheers,
Ben.
Yep, if mine hadn’t sloped off like that I would have got a bit more I think.
Oh ok great, YOU just gotta get those plugs sorted and give it another go, I will book it in soon :roll:
What boost were you running and where did it start to fall off ?
