Sorry to hear about some of the unfortunate guys with car troubles …
Hopefully there wont be any more disasters
I am going down hill fast with man flu…but GTO still running…for now
dont know what the problem is with gto’s mines fine
think their should be a prize for the smallest amount of power aswell… like a free turbo kit or noz
or a new car
I think I’ll probably win that one Sonic so don’t get your hopes up mate
hi,
well ide say this calls an end to the differences between us boys and the tt,s.

Hello mate,
I have emannage support on my old laptop, but its sketchy- best to bring the disk with you.
IIRC the lead is in your car attached to the unit.

A great day out. Many thanks to all involved in organising this. I learnt a lot in a very short space of time and met some nice people but seeing all those lovely worked on GTOs in the flesh has given me a taste for something a with a bit more oomph.
Thanks again everybody

Paul,
as you may have read I had pull out at the last minute with suspected head gasket probs. I’m gutted that I missed running today and would be up for a shot March/April. I live close to Gav and we could travel up together which was the intention this weekend.
Ivan.
so whos posting the results and what gear did you run the cars in.
I got a text and the last car came off the rollers at 7.00pm
Had a good day, lot’s of nice GTO’s, Heaven
Rich
Here’s a couple of quick pics from today:
My car on the rollers:
My final run, a bit lower than expected but nevermind!
Sorry I couldn’t stay all day, was good fun and I was surprised to be top of the leaderboard for so long
I’m looking forward to seeing the final figures from the day!
Cheers to Ian for organising it, and for all the guys (and Karen!) at Eurospec as well!
Gav
i got 186.8 max bhp and about 140 bhp at the wheels witch im still at home trying to work out how you can get 40 bhp diffrent from diff rollers and it has put a hole in my heart for the car… considering i can keep up with a stoke tt to 80 mph i cant see how we only have that much power…
all so for the records the last run i did in canterbury was with a Dastek dynamometers if that means anything to anyone. witch was 225.2 bhp and 164 at the wheels.
also the to dynos have a complete diffrent distance in bhp from fly to wheel power.
i am upset cos losing 40bhp when you dont do anything to the car means the first run i did is just completly out. and so now you have the true bhp power thier is no point what so ever of doing anything to the engine as its lost 40 bhp from when its came of the line.
At lease i had hope after the canterbury run as if the car is fine and working the way it should and i could poss go for noz but after these i just dont think theirs any point…
so note to all owners get ya car dyno before you start any work or you will be disapointed
pls note this isnt a dig at the boys at eurospec. they did a great job and have told me my true bhp, its more pissed off at the other company who fobed me off with a faulse reading>> it was a good day out thanks alot
Do not forget Sonic they have 225 bhp when new, yours is now 12 years old.
When Miller and myself had ours put on a dyno a couple of years ago, Miller had 230 bhp and mine had 213 bhp with a few mods.Thats why when my engine packed up for the third time i went the whole hog and did every mod i could think of barring modified cams.
You don’t half notice the difference when you do do a proper rebuild and end up with a no mileage engine.
Robert.
yer my point aint that its the diffrent’s from the other roller. how can they get away with it you could easy ■■■■ up tuneing ect if your that far out could you not??
Yes it can be frustrating, eurospec have probably given you the more correct reading, it’s not the first time this has been brought up though, a few people in the club have had different readings at different rolling roads throughout the years.
Robert.
yer im taking eurospec as the true read out. just upset its so low and also ek2 downpipe and moongoes pipe makes no diffrents to the power. had an identical car their that ran .6 quick with stock apart from air filter
When was the last time it had a service and have you had the timing checked to make sure it’s bang on, you would be suprised what a difference it can make.
Robert.
