That would be great. Thanks. I don’t mind travelling for a car (I’m on the south coast) if it comes recommended as I can jump on a train with good hopes of coming back with the car. I am just a bit cautious of travelling for a car that I don’t know as chances are I wont buy it! I am a bit picky haha
I am sure its clean and she can tell you what she has done to it, ill chat to her today and pass on her details to you.
Neill.
I was very tempted until I found my green machine.
You’re a legend thanks! Love this community already!
That is just pure awesome!!!
Right. Firstly sorry I have been a bit quiet on here recently. I have been extremely busy with work and the car hunt took a back step. However, on Saturday my Silvia sold (very emotional) so yesterday I got back on the Hunt. And found a great looking 3000GT for sale less than half an hour away. I couldn’t believe my luck. Which got even better when I saw in the add that it was mapped by a friend of a friend. So I got in touch with him and he gave me all the “dirt” on the car. Which I have to say isn’t much. It sounds like its an extremely clean car. And to top it off it is in Blue which is the best colour for them in my opinion.
So tonight as soon as I finish work I am heading straight over there with a pocket full of cash with the best intentions of coming home with it. It is the forth one I have viewed now so fingers are crossed.
Thank you to everyone on here that has shown support in my quest for the holy grail (sorry watched it over the weekend for the millionth time, still doesn’t get old). And @NAS thank you for your lead on that car but unfortunately it came at the wrong time and I didn’t have a chance to follow it up. If for any reason I don’t buy this one tonight I will give her a ring. If she still has it that is.
You’re not the only one with this opinion Max
Glad to here it. They all seem to be red (I assume because it makes it look like a Ferrari 355) or silver. The blue looks a bit different and makes it stand out a bit more. I like uniqueness. Hence why I go for cars that not everyone knows what it is. Its a nice feeling when people come up to you in petrol stations and complement the car and ask what it is and want to know about it. Although with the Silvia I usually got “Hey nice skyline…”
I get people asking me, I also get asked how I can insure it. It’s great for a month, now it does my head in. I think most people assuming I am joyriding my Dad’s car.
@Beanus has a Jade Green colour one, it is nice and unique but I don’t think any touch the blue. Just so you know there are a few blues as well.
I have seen a few blue ones. But no where near as many as the red and silver. The green sounds interesting. Quick question if you guys don’t mind. It is tuned using MAFT Pro. I don’t have any experience with them. Are they any good? Been doing some research and them seem pretty good but I will eventually swap it out for a Vipec. It was tuned by Eurospec who I know well so I can’t imagine it would be a bad thing to run over winter… But any input would be appreciated.
Why do you feel a Vipec is better than a MAFT Pro ??
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a MAFT Pro , they just need setting up by people who care to take the time to learn how to use them and set them up properly.
PM me some details on the car and i will try to identify the car that your taking a look at and maybe i can shed some light on it for you
Regards Rob
So… Here she is!! I originally wanted a near standard car but I have ended up buying a 430bhp monster!
Anyway they say a picture paints a thousand words so I will shut up and just leave these here.
Thank you to everyone who helped with the search and if anyone recognises the car please get in touch and tell me anything you know.
But I am over the moon. It is a joy to drive and very exciting with a heavy boot on the loud pedal!
@GSXRKID Thanks for your reply. Please don’t take my comments as any hate toward the MAFT Pro. I just don’t know anything about them. The reviews I have read are all good. And it supposedly bridges the gap between Piggybacks and Standalones. I would just prefer a full standalone system. The reg is visible in the pictures below. If you do have any info on this car I would be extremely thankful.
Hi Max
The car should have a pair of our 13T’s on it if they didnt swap them out with the engines
Did Ben dyno it to 430BHP ??
It does indeed have 13T’s. And the actual Dyno print out isn’t there. Just a copy of the fuel and ignition tables from the map (and a few other bits). But the map was done by Eurospec on their dyno so when Ben finally gets back to me I will get that info from him. But I want to get it back on the dyno anyway for my own peace of mind. But I can believe it is running 400+
My Silvia was 300whp and 400kg lighter and this feels significantly faster!
Congrats maxx on the new purchase. Don’t think I’ve seen any mk1’s in blue. Get the oils done and we will all see you in January at Eurospec.
